Next Female Auction Sale
Thursday October 22nd, 2009
We will be offering 27 females with calves at foot and rejoined and 3 joined heifers, all Preg Tested, at the
'BUNDALEER' Invitation Sale, in conjunction with 'BAYVIEW' Thursday, October 22nd, 2009. We welcome this opportunity to present another offering of good quality Shorthorn females to fellow breeders and sincerely thank the Ashby family of ‘Bundaleer’ for facilitating the occasion. We have provided a broad cross section of many of our finest breeding female families for your perusal. Many of these of course, are influenced by some of the most significant and pre-eminent sire lines of the breed. We believe all breeders presented have much to offer any breeder and all are capable of producing offspring that are a little ‘extra’ special. Every lot is above the breed average in the majority of the key economic areas with many in the top 1 - 10% of the breed for various traits. We take particular pride in the quality of joining sires of both calves at foot and current pregnancies. If you think some of the dams have good figures, take advantage of the Mating Predictor on the Shorthorn Animal Enquiry facility to see what you can expect of their progeny. Having been in Breedplan since its inception and with the number of sires we have had evaluated in the Durham Research Herd, we have great confidence in the Breedplan traits that we have measured and every belief that these females will breed to their EBV predictions and to your expectation. Full pregnancy status will be available prior to the sale. Following on from being the Most Successful Shorthorn Exhibitor at Adelaide in 2008, this sale concludes what has been a very successful 2009 for the stud. Clients have continued to demonstrate their confidence in our breeding program by rewarding us with top price & top average at Naracoorte in March, with eight bulls. This was followed up in June, with receiving the top price & top average at the Dubbo National Show & Sale, with four bulls, followed by a full clearance of herd bulls. In July we had juniors competing at the 160 head, S.A. All Breeds Heifer Expo. Heifers by three different sires came away with two firsts, two seconds and two of the six Heifer Championship ribbons on offer. We wish fellow breeders every success with your selections and offer any assistance that we can. For full sale listing go to: Shorthorn Society of Australia shorthorn.com.au ![]() |
